
Studio Policies 2025-2026
CLASSROOM POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that parents, relatives, and siblings are not permitted to be with students during classes inside the classroom, unless siblings are taking the same class or are invited by a teacher.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that my child (or children) must arrive on time and maintain consistent attendance, as lateness or absences may disrupt their learning progress and affect their class package.

EARLY DROP OFF POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I drop off my child (or children) more than 30 minutes early at U Design School of Art, I will be charged a $15 Early Drop-Off Penalty for each additional 30-minute period.

LATE PICK UP POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I pick up my child (or children) more than 30 minutes late at U Design School of Art, I will be charged a $15 Late Pick-Up Penalty for each additional 30-minute period.

ABSENT POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if my child (or children) will be absent from a class for any reason, I must notify U Design School of Art at least 24 hours in advance by calling, leaving a voice message, sending a text message, or using WeChat.
MANAGEMENT CANCELLATION POLICY:
I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if a class session is canceled by U Design School of Art, a rescheduling, exchange, or refund will be offered.

MAKE-UP PASS POLICY:

1-Month Package / 4 Classes: I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I purchase the 1-month package, no make-up classes will be issued under any circumstances. Any absences will be considered a no-show and will result in the deduction of classes from the 1-month package.

3-Month Package / 12 Classes: I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I purchase the 3-month package, only one make-up class will be issued for one absence. This make-up class will only be eligible if I provide U Design School of Art with at least 24 hours' advance notice of my child(ren)'s absence. If I fail to give 24 hours' notice, no make-up class will be issued, and any absences will be considered a no-show, resulting in the deduction of classes from the 3-month package.

6-Month Package / 24 Classes: I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I purchase the 6-month package, only two make-up classes will be issued for two absences. These make-up classes will only qualify if I provide U Design School of Art with at least 24 hours' advance notice of my child(ren)'s absence. If I fail to give 24 hours' notice, no make-up class will be issued, and any absences will be considered a no-show, resulting in the deduction of classes from the 6-month package.

9-Month Package / 36 Classes: I understand, as my child's (or children's) guardian, that if I purchase the 9-month package, only three make-up classes will be issued for three absences. These make-up classes will only qualify if I provide U Design School of Art with at least 24 hours' advance notice of my child(ren)'s absence. If I fail to give 24 hours' notice, no make-up class will be issued, and any absences will be considered a no-show, resulting in the deduction of classes from the 9-month package. Make-up classes are valid for three weeks from the date of issuance.

REGISTRATION FEE POLICY:

The registration fee applies to families enrolling in classes at U Design School of Art. It covers service fees associated with all class registrations, including a one-time gift.

The registration fee does not apply to students who were enrolled prior to 1/1/2025 and are currently active. The registration fee may apply in certain circumstances; see details below.

The registration fee remains valid only for currently enrolled and actively participating students. If a student or family does not attend classes and remains inactive for more than 3 months from their last class, re-registration with a new registration fee will be required. This policy applies only to the Fall-Spring school year; the Summer season is excluded.

The registration fee is strictly non-refundable, and no exceptions will be made.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY:

I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, all Presale, Discount, and Early Enrollment classes and camp purchases are final sale and cannot be refunded or exchanged, with no exceptions.

I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, all regular-priced classes and camp purchases can be returned for a refund of class tuition, minus the $35 transaction fee, within 3 days of purchase.

I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, all regular-priced classes and camp purchases can be returned for a partial refund of 80% of the class tuition, minus the $35 transaction fee, if returned after 3 days of purchase but before the class package begins.

I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, all classes and camps are final sale and cannot be refunded or exchanged, with no exceptions, after the first class is used. All unused classes and hours remaining in the class package are not exchangeable for other classes, camps, or special events. No price adjustments will be issued for any packages.
CLASS BEHAVIOR POLICY:

I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, my child(ren) is expected to listen to all staff members at The U Design School of Art. If my child(ren) is not listening, following directions, or being respectful, they will receive a verbal warning. If the behavior continues, I, the parent and/or guardian, will be called to take my child(ren) home early for the day. If my child(ren) stays longer than the 15-minute mark, that day of attendance will count as a class. I understand that if my child(ren) continues to display patterns of unacceptable behavior, he or she may be asked to leave the class permanently, and I will not be entitled to any refunds, credits, prorated fees, or discounts.

NO NUT POLICY
I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, The U Design School of Art does not allow nuts or nut-related products inside the school premises. I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, I will not pack any nuts or nut-related products with my child(ren). I understand that if my child(ren) brings nuts or nut-related products inside the school premises, I, as their guardian, will be held liable for their actions.

ALLERGY POLICY
I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, I must immediately notify The U Design School of Art, its employees, or any involved parties of any severe allergies my child(ren) may have that could result in severe medical consequences. I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, The U Design School of Art, its employees, or any involved parties are not responsible or liable for administering medical aid to my child(ren).
SICK CHILD POLICY
I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, under no circumstances will I bring my sick child(ren) to The U Design School of Art. If my child(ren) shows any signs of illness (see Symptoms Child Removal Policy), I will not bring them to the school. If they display any of these symptoms during class time, and are unable to participate in the normal routine of the class, The U Design School of Art will call the guardians to take the child(ren) home. I understand that sick children can expose other students and staff members to illness, who in turn may spread it further. Because this is disruptive to other families, I understand that my cooperation on this issue is extremely important. In the event a child(ren) becomes ill and needs to be picked up, the parent(s) will be contacted and are expected to come pick up the child within 30 minutes. If the parent(s) cannot be reached, or have not arrived within 30 minutes, the emergency contact guardian will be called and asked to pick up the child. In the event a child complains of not feeling well during class, the parent or emergency contact guardian will be contacted to take the child home.

SYMPTOM CHILD REMOVAL POLICY:
I understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, the symptoms listed below may qualify the U Design School of Art or its employees or any involved parties to remove my child(ren) from the classroom, which would result in me taking my child(ren) home early. I also understand that, as my child(ren)'s guardian, if my child(ren) displays any of these symptoms, I will not bring them to the U Design School of Art.

Fever, defined as having a temperature of 100°F or higher taken on the forehead (a child needs to be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to school, that means the child is fever free without the aid of Tylenol®, or any other fever reducing substance.)

Fever AND sore throat, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, earache, irritability, or confusion.

Frequent scratching of the body or scalp, lice, rash, or any other spots that resemble childhood diseases, including ringworm.
-
Is irritable, continuously crying, or requires more attention than we can provide without hurting the health, safety or well-being of the other children in our care.
