Class Recap: Creative Highlights from Our Art and Design Courses

Digital Sticker & Animated Emoji Design (2nd-8th Grade)

Thursday, 3:45-5:15 PM

This week we explored the fascinating world of emoji design, a key part of Internet culture and daily communication. Students practiced saying hello, expressing emotions, and showing care through their animated designs. It’s amazing how emojis help us share what’s happening in the moment! Everyone had a blast creating their own digital stickers, and they even printed them out to take home. The creativity was off the charts!

Ceramic Sculpture & Throw Wheel (1st-6th Grade)

Wednesday, 3:45-5:15 PM

This week, we kicked off our exciting mask project! Students sketched their ideas—rabbits, Halloween pumpkins, or cats—and used newspaper and cardboard to build the base. Once the masks were shaped, they sculpted detailed facial features with clay. The level of creativity in the room was inspiring, as students brought their unique designs to life. Don’t miss out on this class every Wednesday and Friday!

3D Sculpting & 3D Printing

Wednesday, 3:45-5:15 PM

Our 3D artists continued to hone their skills using Nomad Sculpt software to create lifelike animal figures, from playful kittens to graceful dolphins. Students learned the importance of shape language in design. Some of the best pieces have already been printed, and next comes the detailed coloring process. These creations are quickly becoming masterpieces as students add intricate paintwork to match their prototypes!

Young Designer (K-2nd Grade)

Wednesday, 3:45-5:15 PM & Saturday, 12:00-1:30 PM

Today’s project was all about creativity and fun as students made their very own hot air balloons. Using balloons, paper mache, and glue, they built colorful designs, adding cute animal features like noses, eyes, and ears. The class had a great time embellishing their creations with accessories and props. The mix of painting and crafting brought the animals to life, making this course one of the favorites!

Little Designer (PreK-K)

Tuesday, 3:45-5:15 PM

Our youngest artists had a fantastic day creating paper mache bowls and paper-cut beetles. This hands-on activity combined both 2D and 3D art techniques, helping the children develop hand-eye coordination while exposing them to various art mediums. It was a perfect blend of crafts and painting, designed to stimulate their creativity and fine motor skills!
